I’ve been wanting to start an art journal for a while now.
I want to combine journaling, art, scrapbooking…
I tried not to complicate it or overthink it too much, (I usually do)…
Just wanted to have fun with it.
I love putting little cards inside small envelopes with pretty pics and a quote on the back. (Like in the picture above)
This first entry was on Life…
Embracing that abundant life that Jesus talked about.
Every day is part of the journey.
Every day should be cherished.
Journaling is therapeutic for me. So is doodling, art, coloring, gluing little pieces of fabric/paper/beads…
I was the kid who looked forward to buying school supplies every year. (I still am!!)
Have a fantastic day everybody!
May your journey be a blessed one!
Love to you all,
Daisy
So Beautiful!
When we do Samaritans Purse shoeboxes, I always get the children paper, notebooks, markers, scissors…
Stuff no one should be without!
What a great idea! I’m sure they love that.
I love your journal and have always wanted to have an Art Journal. But sadly I do not consider myself very artistic! #1 I can’t draw. (Well I can draw hearts but that’s about it!) My “art journal” looks nothing like yours! Yours is beautiful!
Thanks so much for your kind comment. I can’t draw very well either, I just use stamps, scrapbook papers & cut-outs. I mostly “finger paint” with dye pads, acrylic paints, and I especially enjoy smudging pastel sticks — I feel like I’m back in first grade art class. No pressure, just fun. I’ve been watching some how-to videos on YouTube and they’ve been very helpful… I just searched for “Art Journal” and there was a huge selection to choose from.
Looks so pretty! And it makes you happy so keep it up!
Thanks for your encouragement. 🙂 Let me know how the weaving goes.
This is really beautiful and so inspiring, Daisy. I’ve been wanting to do some sort of sketching/journal/map thing but I’m a bit intimidated because I’ve never been able to draw. I love what you’ve done here! Warm regards, Vivian
Thanks so much, Vivian! You are always so encouraging. I don’t draw much, just doodle really, but I try to have fun with it. Btw, Love the photos you shared on your blog!
It is fun to buy art and craft supplies. . . I just need to find time to use the supplies that I’ve purchased. This winter I’m working on a needlepoint picture that I purchased years ago.
I know what you mean! When I moved last year, in the packing/down-sizing process I found things I’d forgotten I had! It was like going shopping for free! 🙂
What a fun idea, Daisy!! Did you draw the pictures? I worked on scrapbooks years ago for my kids but never thought of doing it for myself to journal, collect images. It’s lovely. thanks for the idea.
Hi Rhonda! I didn’t draw anything myself (I don’t draw very well)… it’s mostly from stamps or scrapbook papers. I draw very little (flowers, stick figures, houses, trees–simple stuff). It has been fun… not overthinking it and just “playing” with colors, dyes, and basically finger painting. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as well 🙂
It’s fun to know we can still “play” Daisy! I love the idea oaf collecting beautiful thoughts and images this way…
Reblogged this on Haven of Inspiration.
Daisy, this is so pretty. I love journals and art–what a great idea to combine the two.
