Would you like to go on a ride down the Rainbow River? Last month we were able to go with some friends who live in that area and had rented a pontoon boat for all of us to enjoy. It was so much fun!
Every little turn held another beautiful sight to behold…
There was wildlife of different kinds…

We saw other families that were also enjoying the river… I can hear the Momma saying, “Now, George, you be careful! Don’t push your sister into the water; you know she has a cold!”

… Couples who were appreciating the sights from a lofty point…
I wonder what they were saying to each other… “Hey, Hank, where do you want to go tonight?”
“I don’t know, darling. What would you like to do?”

Some folks decided to stay inside.
What a nice little dock… I think I’d like to sit and watch the people go by… maybe even take a little nap.
Zzzzzzzz
We saw some very pretty houses… some were huge and some were quaint like this one. I kinda like this one. It looks like a small, cozy place. Just bring what you need and enjoy the river. That sounds good to me.
What a sweet abode those birds have! They can enjoy the “parade” going by from the luxury of their front row seating.
As we lazily cruised down the river, we saw people swimming, tubing, and canoeing. Everyone was enjoying the cool water and the beautiful scenery. When it got too hot, we jumped in the river and cooled off. At first, the water felt ice-cold but when it came time to get out, we were very reluctant.
Some of the grand trees we floated by…
What a fun way to enjoy the river! This one seems like you can easily get in and out of the water… Nice!
Hope you enjoyed the ride! 🙂
Happy summer,

The drive we take to go to the Farmers’ Market is really a delight for me…
It’s away from the city, down quiet, secluded roads. I sigh several times, the tension just falling off; the “world” is left behind with all its noise and demands.
Even the fence posts look pretty to me! 🙂
The directions are clear and easy to read 🙂
We get to visit with old friends.
I’m surprised we don’t have to pay a toll on this road (like all the highways around here). I think I’d like to sit under that tree and sip a little ice-cold lemonade while watching the horses nearby.
There they are. I think I’ll stay here for a while.
Happy Monday!

Last weekend we were able to go for a short visit to see friends…
They introduced us to their dog, Winston…
Winston is a big doggie, but a sweet and oh so nice, doggie.
Just look at that face!
As we (the humans) talked & laughed, had some coffee and/or iced tea…
Winston tried to look uninterested but failed miserably. He couldn’t keep his eyes off me and my camera. At times he looked a bit scared, but mostly he was just staring.
I wonder what he was thinking…
I guess he finally just gave up trying to figure me (and my camera) out and decided to relax. “Maybe she’ll go away soon. I think I’ll just take a nap until then.”
I liked Winston. He is a beautiful dog and the perfect gentleman. 🙂
Happy friday!

This is my favorite Banana Bread recipe…
This recipe is easy but delicious! My favorite part is the top crust.
Instead of a loaf pan, I use a baking pan…that way there’s more of that nice crust to enjoy. It looks more like a cake but tastes like banana bread.
Banana Bread Recipe:
1 1/2 cup of mashed bananas
3/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (I use only a pinch)
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
2 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 325. Grease pan. Mix bananas, sugar, oil, and eggs in a large bowl with wooden spoon. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into pan.
Secret to top crust: Sprinkle top with sugar. The more you sprinkle, the crispier and thicker it will be. (Just don’t overdo it) 🙂
Bake until wooden pick inserted in center of bread comes out clean…
If baking in a cake pan: 45-50 min.
If baking in loaf pan: 50-60 min.
Let cool 5-10 min.
Enjoy! Feel free to serve with whip cream.
Happy Baking,
Daisy

Today is my husband’s birthday.
This is one of only two photos we have of his early childhood.
Even then, he didn’t like having his picture taken.

Here he is with his family. He is the younger brother.
What a cutie!
It’s fun to look at old photos.
I am so thankful for my husband.
He is my best friend and a wonderful husband and father.
Happy Birthday, Honey!
I love you!!
