This entry is going to be very different from all the previous ones…
I usually have a photo, and have humorous things to say about it,
or I have some project I’ve been working on that I want to tell you about.
Not today…
The last few months have been a bit trying.
I’m not going to sugar-coat it or make it sound happy.
The main reason I started this blog
was because I wanted a place where I could have an outlet
for my creative projects, including photography, sewing, etc.
But also, I wanted to make new friends,
be a blessing to others,
and be able to write about whatever was on my heart.
Well, the last couple of weeks, I have had no desire to even open this page.
Or sew, or write, or do anything creative…
My health hasn’t been great, (severe migraines)
along with other challenging situations.
Dealing with a variety of things at once is a lot of what life is like
for most of us. It isn’t easy, or pleasant, and there are times we may feel
overwhelmed and even too weary to deal with one more thing.
Where does strength come from in times like these?
Looking back,
throughout most of my life, (from the age of 13),
I can honestly say that there has been a constant
that has carried me through very difficult times,
even those of great grief…
I’d sit with the Bible open on my lap,
the tears streaming down my face.
I’d pour my heart out to God
and knew and felt that He heard me
that He was with me.
I was not alone.
His strength and His comfort got me through so many
very difficult times.
And so it is still true today.
Whether severe physical pain,
in the ER, not knowing what’s going to happen the next minute…
or just simple challenges that come up everyday,
nothing too earth-shattering but still feeling the need
for wisdom and guidance,
for everyday strength and joy.
I was reminded this past weekend of a verse you’ve probably heard before…
“My grace is sufficient for you,
for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Cor. 12:9)
As I was writing here now, a song came on and I’d like to share it with you:
by Steven Curtis Chapman, His Strength is Perfect (click to listen).
I’m so thankful that some of you actually emailed me or commented
to tell me you missed me and wondering how I was doing.
That meant so much to me.
Thank you so very much!
I value your friendship more than you know.
May God bless you this week in a wonderful way!
Love to you all,
Daisy
“His strength is perfect.”
So glad to hear from you. Even though it has been challenging, those are to strengthen us.–Easy to say, hard to know, realize. and live through. Been praying for you — even though I didn’t know what you needed, He does.
May His grace cover you this week…
Thank you for your prayers!! It’s so nice to hear those words, “so glad to hear from you.” I thank the Lord for new friends like you 🙂
Love and prayers coming your way! Hugs, Katherine
Thank you so much! They are so appreciated!! I feel better already 🙂
Gentle hugs to you, Daisy. My heart goes out to you for the suffering you have been through with migraines. Life is hard enough without physical pain on top of it all. It encourages me to hear that you lean into the LORD during your difficult days. I know I need his help daily. We are Steven Curtis Chapman fans at our house too. Love your picture!
Blessings ~ Wendy
Words can’t express how thankful I am for all your comments and “checking up” on me every once in a while to see if I was ok. I thank the Lord for you and for your friendship. You (and your blog) have been a blessing to my life! 🙂
Your strength will come from increasing Faith, Patience, and giving all your troubles to God. Glad you’re well to post, and thanks for sharing the video. May God continues to be with you, and all you do. Stay prayerful it works. Be Blessed, Mtetar

How good it was to read your comments (and also the times you checked back to make sure I was doing ok). You don’t know how much it blessed me and how much it meant to me to know that you were “missing me” 🙂 Thanks for being my friend. Thank you for your prayers!!
Love and prayers, Daisy, as He holds you tight through all this. Thank you for letting us hear from you!
Thank you so very much for your “love and prayers”. They mean a great deal.
I have wondered how you are and where you’ve been. I too have had several months of health related issues that have discouraged me on a daily basis. I have found myself relying on faith going through this, so I can relate. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I’m so sorry that you, too, have experienced health issues. I pray you are feeling completely fine very soon! Thank you for your sweet comment. It means a lot.
May God bless you and continue to give you His perfect peace!
Thanks so much for your heart-felt prayer! May He bless you also!! 🙂
It sounds like you’ve had a rough few weeks. Health issues can be so draining. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thank you so much for your kindness, it means a lot.
May you have a garden of blessing!
You are sweet! Thank you.
Daisy – I have walked in your shoes and recently had an extended absence from my blog. So glad that you found me, and that we can journey with God together. Prayers for you to always feel His love! Kandy
Thank you so much for introducing yourself and for leaving a comment. We can never take friends for granted, and I so appreciate your prayers. 🙂
