I know I just posted a photo of a horse I met on a little country road…
but I couldn’t wait to share these pictures with you…
My husband and I were on our way to a church picnic…
I had no idea that we would be way out in the country…
But as we drove in, I couldn’t believe my eyes!
There were lots of cows, chickens, and these two beautiful horses!
I immediately took out my camera and began taking pictures.
The cows didn’t like me too much, they actually scared me.
But the horses were very nice and weren’t camera-shy.
If you’re from the city, a day in the country can be literally “a breath of fresh air”.
For me, it’s usually like taking a trip back in time.
A slower pace.
Time to reflect.
No signal… so no cell phone calls.
I can feel the stress begin to fade away.
If you’re with a loved one, or with a friend, it can be so special.
Or even if you’re by yourself, it can be a time for refreshing.
The breeze, the sounds of the outdoors in the background.
There’s something about getting away from the noise and distractions we are used to,
and going outdoors where we can slow down, be quiet, enjoy the ancient art of talking
to one another (instead of texting, or using the social media).
If you get the chance anytime soon,
to go out to the country…
go for it.
Enjoy the quiet, and the scenery.
Happy refreshing!
Daisy
Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing the pictures of the horses.
Lillian
They sure are beauties, aren’t they?! So glad you liked it, Lillian!
I especially like the shot of the brown horse that shows his/her whiskers!
Lovely horses! I live out in the country, and I LOVE it out here – so peaceful, in it’s own way, and there are always lovely things to photograph. I also feel more “in tune” to the seasons, since I see them changing very, very clearly right outside my window. I feel like I am closer to God’s green earth.
I love it here.
What a great blessing to live in the country! …and to see the seasons change never gets old! Thanks for taking the time to comment 🙂
Are you saying that the cows were not a’moo’sed with your visit? 😉 The horses are so beautiful. Reminds me of Job 39:19 “Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?” (KJV) I like reading about God pointing out the attributes of His beautiful creation. Peace. Beth
I agree! It’s neat how God talks about His creation! Those verses you quoted are beautiful. I think it would be nice to frame one of the photos of the horses with those verses underneath… thanks for sharing those Scriptures! 🙂
Thank you for sharing your blessings with us today! This was our youngest daughter’s horse therapy day and I think it’s therapy for me too, each time we go and get to be with the horses! God bless you, Daisy, and bring you more times of refreshing!
Thank you for that heartfelt blessing! I so appreciate it! It’s interesting that horses are often used now in therapy. I’m sure your daughter enjoys it just as much as you do! 🙂
Beautiful photos Daisy! Our parents have a little cabin in the mountains and we almost never get up there, but you’re making me try and figure a weekend to get away from town…
The second picture is my favorite, Daisy. Nice work – or should I say play? 🙂
Blessings ~ Wendy
