This year my daughter and I participated in a fun shoebox exchange with others who enjoy quilting and sewing.
All year we collect fat quarters in the colors our “secret quilter” requested; two each month. We also add fun little items such as a pin cushion, ornament, sewing needles, and …chocolate!
My Shoebox arrived this week!
Let me show you all the goodies that came inside:
Just look at all those fun fabrics! The colors I chose were red and yellow.
I can hardly wait to sit down and start planning & sewing.
My “secret quilter” sent these cute little ornaments…
Here’s a close up of some of the other surprises …
She also included this fabric with beautiful scenes…
And last but certainly NOT least
(Drumroll, please)
Homemade peppermint fudge.
Wow. So delicious!
I also loved the pretty card she included,
And a postcard from her home State
It was so much fun opening my Shoebox and going through all the little gifts!
Thank you to my secret quilter friend!
π
Have a wonderful weekend!
Daisy
If I thought I could get a chuck of that peppermint fudge, I’d scurry right over. I absolutely L O V E peppermint, and putting it in fudge…double blessing!! Beautiful stuff, congrats!!!!
Thanks! And yes, it was delicious! π
I knew it. I just KNEW it would be!!!
What a great idea! Love your cherished shoebox…cherished because of the thoughtfulness of a friend!
It was fun to open my box as well as work on the one that I sent off to the name I was given this time last year. I still haven’t heard if she’s received it… I hope she likes it π
How could she not? π
This was such a great idea and so much fun for the givers and receivers! π Thank you for sharing!!
I guess all quilters and “sewers” love fabrics. So many pretty colors, so many fun projects to make π
Wow, what a great package! I think that last fabric looks kinda of like Diane Phalen scenes, don’t you? What a great box!
You received a wonderful shoebox. Enjoy everything – especially the fudge.
Lillian
Thanks, Lillian! I was secretly hoping I had you but then Susan told us you were not participating this year. My daughter and I really enjoyed being a part of it. We are waiting to decide this coming week if we will participate again this year. I have several things I want to do and am not sure if I can do the Shoebox Swap also. It was your blog where I first heard of it last year π
What a fun exchange! You received some very nice stuff . . . especially the fudge! Now you won’t need to make the 5 pounds of fab fudge I posted about but, if you do someday, there’s no reason you couldn’t add peppermint!
What a lovely and fun shoebox you received! There’s only one thing I don’t see, the recipe for the fudge, lol! π It really looks rich and mouthwatering!:D
Have a wonderful and blessed holiday. Beth
What a great idea! I love the things you got.
Love this Daisy!! What a fun idea!
What a fantastic idea! You must have loved receiving this bundle of goodies from such a generous secret quilter.
