I’ve been busy making Christmas gifts for family & friends…
I’ll be posting them the next few days,
In case you could use some last-minute ideas
(Click on photos for a closer look)
I made several notebook covers for friends. The above photo is the outside front cover.
Below is the inside…
This is the outside back.
As you can see I put a little piece of elastic to wrap around the button on the front and provide a closure.
This is the finished inside,
With the notebook placed inside.
I had fun making some bookmarks,
And other scrapbook-style goodies.
Did you notice I also included
A small piece of chocolate?
I think that’s probably the first thing
my friend will notice 🙂
Happy crafting,
Daisy
SO pretty!!!
Thanks so much!
These covers are so pretty and useful. I received one from a blogger friend in Australia two years ago and I’m still using and enjoying it.

Thanks, Lillian. I love using these myself. They make any notebook or journal look nicer 🙂
Nice idea! I have a lot of damaged vintage linens and this would be a great way to upcycle some of the pretty pieces!
That is a great idea! For this project (and others I’ll be posting) I used remnants from my Dad – he’s an upholsterer and is always giving me any left-over fabrics I like. He has a wide variety of fabrics, from soft silk to an actual cow’s hide. It’s fun dreaming up ways to use some of these beautiful fabrics. Unfortunately, I don’t live close enough to him to use his sewing machines, so I don’t get to use some of the heavy fabrics. But when I visit him, we have fun working together in his workshop – I sew my projects while he is upholstering. 🙂
That sounds like great father/daughter time!
What a beautiful gift you’ve made! Thanks for sharing it with us and inspiring us!
Thank you. You are always so encouraging 🙂
