I’m either very late or
very, very early…
I’ve been working on a quilt I started at the end of last year.
I bought Christmas fabric at 60-75% off!
It’s been a lot of fun piecing these squares together.
It goes fast!
Here’s a few of the blocks I’ve pieced together:
I haven’t trimmed these yet, and
keep in mind
I’m only a beginner.
Not all the points are perfect,
but I figure that in the large quilt,
it won’t be too obvious. (I hope!)
I am hoping to have this one done
before Christmas this year! 🙂
Happy Quilting,
Daisy
Oh how cute …..show us when it’s all put together!!!
I’ll certainly do that! Trying to get it done soon. It’s the backing & binding that I’m a little concerned about, since I have to do it by hand. My sewing machine is just too small to fit a queen size quilt rolled up! (I’ve already tried it!)
Quite a project…a true heirloom!! Will you quilt it by hand too? Wish I could do this….I’m just a knitter
It will be beautiful … sewn with love. You are doing really well for a beginner :-).
Thanks so much for your kind comment! 🙂
I love the stars. I’d also like to see the finished quilt.
Lillian
Thanks, Lillian! I would love to have it finished by the end of the month. I set a goal of making 1-2 Christmas gifts each month… that way I wouldn’t be rushed to complete gifts during Christmas time. I need to catch up if I want to meet my goal! It’s fun trying, though. 🙂
What fun! The fabrics are great (I love that red houndstooth) and I’m sure you’re right that no one is going to get hung up on the points matching.
Lets just say that if I give it away as a gift (which is what I would like to do), it’ll be to someone who doesn’t know how to sew! 🙂
Very pretty color combinations!
I love the stars; love the colors; but I especially love the white on white background. It looks beautiful! Even someone who sews would be delighted to get this. 🙂
Aww that’s nice of you to say so 🙂
Do you sew?? Haha!
I don’t trim mine up until I am ready to sew them together. They can get a little stringy waiting for the other blocks to be finished.
It is going to be a cute Christmas quilt. Will enjoy reading about your progress.
Love, love this Daisy!! I don’t think your points have to be perfect– I have friends who make the most glorious quilts, not a crooked edge anywhere. But I love cozy quilts that look a little homemade. I haven’t quilted anything in the last few months– you’re inspiring me to make a plan and head to the fabric store. I think your quilt will be wonderful!!
It’s beautiful. What a fun design!
