Do you ever feel like you just need some quiet time?
(Photo taken inside an 1800s church)
There were no microphones here, no Powerpoint, … not even electricity.
Yet,
the people gathered here and worshipped God.
All they had was each other and the Bible.
They read. They prayed together. They encouraged one another.
Made me realize once again…
we don’t need all the “bells and whistles” we feel so necessary today.
I guess all we need is a hunger for God.
Just thinking…
Have a blessed weekend everybody.
Love to you all,
Daisy
Totally agree … now where are my bonnet and gloves ? :-).
Ha! It would be fun to wear those again 🙂
🙂
Beautiful photo!
Thanks so much 🙂
Sometimes I think those bells and whistles distract us from a powerful silence that enables us to hear and feel. But I’ve always longed for “the good old days”. I was born in the Wong century! 🙂
I agree!
My heart longs for this kind of purity and simplicity.
Have a wonderful weekend and may God bless you! 🙂 Beth
Thanks, Beth.
Daisy -your words resonate with my heart. I think we forget that God has communed with us for a long time before all the bells and whistles. Many days my heart longs for that type of connection. I love the choice of the word “sanctuary”. Hugs and blessings – Kandy
You’re right, Kandy. Thanks for that reminder.
Thanks Daisy, for the reminder– a hunger for God is really all we need to go and worship him… love this post.
Thanks, Rhonda… your encouragement is always so timely.
