My husband & I recently celebrated out 30th wedding anniversary!!
…to celebrate, we planned a very special trip,
however, things don’t always go as planned,
and I found myself in the ER just two days before
we were scheduled to leave on our trip.
I am so thankful that it was nothing serious and I am recovering.
If you’ve ever been in the ER,
especially if you have a lot of pain,
all kinds of thoughts want to rush in
and fill your mind with visions of what could happen…
It’s not easy to keep those thoughts from taking over.
I thank God that I felt his peace,
His comfort,
and his strength.
…and that I was happily released about 5 hours later!!
We didn’t exactly get to go on the trip we wanted,
but we did go to a nice place and get some fresh air
up in the Blue Ridge Mountains…
We went on a hike and I’d like to show you
some of the things we saw…
It was hard to walk past the pretty flowers
without stopping to take 5-105 photographs…
My husband is a very patient man.
We came across this bench with a heart shaped by flowers!
Some of the more steep areas had steps…
We had a great time!
Now we’re ready for another 30 years of wedded bliss!!
I am blessed beyond measure!
My husband is my best friend,
he is an amazing person in many ways,
…and we’re still very much in love!
Looking forward to all God has for us!
Daisy
Congratulations on your anniversary Daisy! And what a beautiful hike! I am happy you were healthy enough to go!
Thank you! The last thing I asked the doctor before he left the room was, “Can I still go on the trip??” –thankfully, he said yes! 🙂
I’m sorry you had to change your original plans, but it looks like you picked a wonderful alternative. I hope you have many, many more years of happiness with your handsome husband.
Lillian
Thank you Lillian! You made me laugh with your comment about my husband — I always tell him he’s so handsome — maybe now he’ll believe me! haha
Yes congratulations Daisy, what a blessing you would had have missed had you not had your trial. To God be the glory.
Yes, amen!
Daisy–love, love, love these pictures– so green and leafy!! Wish we could follow your footsteps on the same hike! — so glad you were able to go. We had a harrowing day in the ER last summer than ended with Larry losing a gall bladder. Hope you are healthily back to normal and can find some time to take your original trip!!
Thanks, Rhonda! So sorry to hear of your experience in the ER — I was kind of thinking I might need surgery… I can’t put into words how happy & relieved I felt when the doctor gave me the results of the CT Scan and told me I could go home! I thank The Lord that it was a minor thing and although painful, it’s no big deal!! We may be able to take our original trip next year, but we’ll have to wait a while and see. 🙂
Just thankful you’re doing well…
I appreciate that! 🙂
What a beautiful, uplifting post. Congratulations and here’s to another 30 years!
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comment! 🙂
The peace and quiet of that beautiful hike was probably exactly what you needed after the health scare! I’m glad everything turned out fine!
Yes! It was such a beautiful hike with lots of places to stop and look at and enjoy. The lake we came upon was surrounded by woods but it had several docks to fish from. If you look closely at the photo, there’s a father & son fishing there. We asked them if they had caught anything and they said they hadn’t been there long.
Congratulations and many more years of happiness!
Thanks so much!!
Happy Anniversary! I’m glad that you’re feeling better. The mountains are beautiful.
Thanks, Sheryl! I appreciate that!
Rejoicing and celebrating your wonderful marriage with you! So thankful you are okay and that God is good, all the time! Just wondering . . .did someone put those heart shaped flowers there for you? 🙂
Isn’t that funny? We have no idea who did this… it was probably someone who was there not long before us. Maybe someone else was celebrating an anniversary, too. haha
Congratulations on 30 years! All of these photos are just so great…makes me wish I could take a trip to the Blue Ridge Mts – OH MY! 🙂
God is so good to have blessed you with good health, and an amazing best friend! I love the last picture of the two of you – enjoy the next 30+ years together! It just keeps getting better 🙂
🙂 Thank you!!
