I’ve been working, on & off, on these little blocks…
.
I didn’t want to use just plain white for the background, which is what I’ve done so many times…
I wanted something more fun and out of the usual for me…
.
.
I love this shade of blue… makes me smile as I sew…
.
.
I used the template for mini periwinkle and the papers for wacky web pattern, both from Missouri Star Quilt Co.
.
.
I used the Arbor Blossom charm pack. So much fun to work with these bright and cheery fabrics!
.
.
I’m still not sure what I’m going to make with these blocks…
.
.
What do you think? Quilt? Placemats?
.
I thought of maybe making a picnic table quilt?
Should I use the red thread or the blue thread for the hand-quilting??
.
I’ll appreciate your input!
.
Have a blessed weekend!

Great blocks. Would make a great picnic table cloth. I think I would hand quilt using white thread. I hope you post a photo of the finished project x
That sounds like a great idea! I’m hoping to finish in the next couple of weeks! I’ll post photos of whatever it turns out to be!
This would be a wonderful picnic quilt…love it! Red is a bold choice for hand quilting…I am not that confident with my hand quilting! I would choose a blue similar to your background choice, but then again, there is a reason that I am not a hand quilter. Ha, ha!
I’m not that good either, my stitches are large and irregular, but I just think it adds to the “charm”? At least that’s what I tell myself! haha
I love the fabric – this is going to be so nice when it’s finished. I would also go with the blue hand quilting.
I’m leaning towards the blue, too. It’s my favorite color, so I guess I’m biased.
How precious! I love that you begin without fully knowing what it will be! A picnic Quilt sounds so lovely! And I like the idea of the blue thread too, but I have never hand quilted and barely quilted at all! Blessings and love!
Well, everyone has voted for a picnic quilt, so maybe that’s what I’ll do… Thanks for your input! And blessings to you as well!!
I love the pretty fabric patterns you’re using in your quilt! One of these days I want to try making one! 🙂
Ooooooo, when these blocks come together, it is going to be stunning!
Really pretty Daisy!! I love that shade of blue too– it would be pretty to paint a bedroom!! I vote for a baby quilt– but I think the picnic quit idea is great too– what fun to have it for outings. I know nothing about those kinds of templates or web patterns– I’m going to have to go to Missouri Star and see what I need to step up my quilting! (I’m stitching a simple –no patches– baby quilt for my nephew’s baby coming in July. So happy for them! OK, hugs hugs.
Oh, how fun! A new little baby! I’m sure your quilt will be beautiful and most importantly, it will be loved! Your nephew will certainly appreciate such a special gift for his baby! xoxo
