Why Skillshare? Well, I love to teach, and I love to sew… Skillshare offered an easy way for me to do both at the same time, so it was an offer I couldn’t refuse! If you love crafts of all kinds – quilting, crochet, sewing, embroidery, cooking, baking, watercolor, painting, drawing, graphic design, anything you can think of… there’s a class for it on Skillshare! I’ve been taking classes just for fun when I’m sitting for hours at airports, or traveling in the car for half a day. It’s relaxing for me to do something fun like that. So, I thought I could give teaching a class a try, and see how it goes.
I also like how every class on Skillshare is set up with short videos that are usually 2-5 minutes long, so if you don’t have a lot of time, you can just watch a segment or two at a time. Also, entire classes are short, so that anyone can take them. My class is less than 30 minutes long all together.
.
I hope you’ll give it a try! If you’d like to find out how you can take this class or watch another video in my class, just click here:

Oh yes, I almost forgot! I’m also doing a giveaway as part of the class –
Three winners will each receive two yards of fabric!!
.
It was fun to work on this class, and I can’t wait to do the next one!
Stay tuned!
Happy Sewing,
Daisy
I never heard of Skillshare. I will have to see what that is all about. Congrats on your new endeavor!
Thank you, Laura! I hadn’t heard of it until last year when my daughter told me about it. She teaches two classes on hand lettering. I’ve really enjoyed taking different classes on a variety of subjects… I think my favorite ones have been watercolor, probably because I feel like I’m coloring and it’s really fun. But they had a challenge for May to encourage new teachers and I thought it would be fun to try, so I’m already looking forward to working on my second class. I think you would really enjoy their format because it’s short videos; everyone’s so busy, they figure it’s a lot easier to get people to watch a 3 minute segment than a 30 minute one. I also think you’d make a great teacher! 😊
Thank you! I homeschooled my kids and they actually turned out okay…does that count? Ha, ha!
I have taught quilting classes at various quilt shops and through the community education center. I enjoyed that time very much.
I’ve taught kids in various church programs
as well.
So, you called it right…I used to teach, and I do think I do a good job of it. However, for the last few years, I have worked (and still am) a demanding day job six days a week. I haven’t much energy left for other activities.
This is so exciting Daisy!! How did you figure out how to set it all up??! I’m off to watch.. I’m sure a I can learn a lot from you! xox
I think you’ll have fun, Rhonda, but I think you should really consider teaching a cooking class!! You’ve been a great teacher for years and you love to cook, so there’s a winning combination! I would certainly love to take your class! 😊
Oh gosh Daisy– I wouldn’t know where to begin!! You’re too kind! hugs hugs!
Blessings and joy to you Daisy, as you begin this skillshare adventure! It sounds so wonderful!
Thank you so much, Debbie! I really appreciate your encouragement!! 😊
A beautiful presentation! I like that the project is something anyone and everyone can use. Extremely well done!
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words!
